tomi is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Polygon (Matic).
tomi is building a permissionless fully decentralized internet network governed by its own users through the DAO.
The goal of this integration with Polygon is to significantly reduce the cost of the tomi’s artDAO on-chain voting, Driving tomiNet Functionality and Adoption Using Polygon.
tomi’s main goal is to promote free speech, fight censorship and grant full access to information for its users worldwide while still preserving the ability to avoid being a criminal hub, like the darknet, utilizing its DAO to censore harmful websites that violate the community guidelines.
Expensive voting fees & solution
one of tomi’s challenges was validating our artDAO, In the beginning, we planned to make off-chain voting but that idea has been quickly dropped for on-chain voting in order to be fully transparent with our users.
since the $TOMI is an ERC-20 token, the fees could often be quite expensive, On-chain voting could reduce network engagement and even open the door for malicious takeovers, with Polygon integration we will be able to allow the voting transaction fee to be as close to zero, maximizing efficiency through Polygon’s solutions.
Technical Information
ETH gas fees often get too expansive to allow high quorum in the dao. we found a Solution – we are moving the artDAO to the Polygon ecosystem. the tomiDAO which is on ETH, is controlling the committee and the committee is controlling the artDAO.
The tomiDAO will issue a controller NFT whenever a member is selected in the committee, and that NFT will be non-transferable, only the DAO can mint, transfer or burn it. It is possible to manage the committee members and check the proof of ownership by completing certain proofs in the contracts, we will use Polygon Rollups(L2).
Each design submitted will be recorded on-chain and images submitted will be stored on IPFS.
